During the festive season, Nida is enveloped in a pleasant festive atmosphere and cosy tranquillity: the streets lit up with festive lights, the Christmas decorations, the tranquillity of the dunes and the sound of the sea create a special atmosphere. And in addition to the cosy atmosphere, this year there is a rich calendar of events to relax and enjoy this magical season. What festive events are on offer in Nida this year? From live concerts to cosy board game nights, all you have to do is choose what will get you in the festive mood. December 2024 events in Nida:

Let's start the festive season together by creating a Christmas accent - Advent wreaths. A cosy evening where we will share peace and warmth with each other. Natural materials such as twigs and pine cones will be provided. You are encouraged to bring something to add to your Advent wreaths: ribbons, candles, dried oranges and other decorations. The workshop will take place on 29 November, from 17:00, at the Curonian Spit National Park Visitor Centre (address L. Rėzos g. 8, Juodkrante).

This year, the symbol of the beginning of the holidays will be the lighting of the Christmas tree in Preila. During the celebration, Christmas melodies will be played, there will be fun activities for the little ones, and the joyful atmosphere will be created by the highlight of the evening - the lighting of the Christmas tree. Participants are welcome on 5 December at 18:00 in the Preila Community Centre (Preilos g. 27, Neringa).

After the start of the Neringa Christmas tree lighting ceremony, we will announce the beginning of the Christmas celebrations in Juodkrante on 6 December. What to expect? Live music, a pleasant festive buzz, an enchanting performance by the students of the Neringa School of Art and, of course, Santa's appearance! The festive tree lighting in Juodkrantė will take place on 6 December from 5 pm on the Curonian Lagoon quay near the Witches Hill.

Neringa Art School's festive concert "The Drum of Time" is an evening of music, dance and creativity, inviting you to get in the festive mood. Together, the students and teachers of the art school create and present inspiring performances that blend tradition and modern chords. This concert is a warm community gathering to help you immerse yourself in the rhythm of the upcoming holidays. You can listen to live music on 12 December from 6 pm at the Nida Community House (Taikos str. 17, Neringa).

On 12 December, the festive anticipation and joy will begin in Nida! The New Year in Nida and the whole festive period is very cosy - smelling of cookies, accompanied by a pleasant bustle at the Christmas market and an uplifting, festive mood. At the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, we will hear Christmas tunes, children's entertainment and, of course, we will finally meet the Santa Claus we have been waiting for all year! In Nida, the Christmas tree is lit on 12 December from 19:30 at the Neringa Municipal Square (Taikos g. 2, Neringa).

This year, the Nida Christmas tree will be home to the Christmas Town, where you will be invited to enjoy festive treats and drinks every weekend in December and every day between the holidays. Young visitors will be entertained with education and activities such as making Christmas toys and cards, singing and learning about the traditions of the fishing region. The Christmas Town will be located next to the Christmas tree in the Neringa Municipal Square (Taikos str. 2, Neringa).

A cosy and meaningful evening before the major holidays of the year to pause, take a moment to soak up the warmth of folk music and fellowship. This Advent evening with the folklore ensemble will be filled with ancient traditions and the spirit of Advent anticipation. With authentic folk songs and melodies, the members of the ensemble will talk about the customs of Advent and invite you to create a sense of togetherness and peace together. Advent evening "Oh, the candle glowed on the field, the fires danced" with the folklore ensemble "Aušrinė" will take place on 13 December, 17:00, at the Liudvikas Reza Cultural Centre (address L. Rėzos g. 8B, Neringa). 

Another cosy family activity in Nida, where you can immerse yourself in festive creativity. During the workshop, you will learn about paper crafting techniques and unleash your creativity by decorating your own Christmas trees. All the necessary tools for the workshop will be provided. The workshop is free. The workshop will take place on 13 December at 16:00 at the Viktoras Miliūnas Library in Neringa (Pamario str. 53, Neringa).

Another cosy Advent evening with the folklore ensemble "Agila". This is an evening filled with warmth and tradition, during which we will invite you to remember the old customs and songs of Advent. The members of the ensemble will share the meaning of the Advent season with the sound of cosy melodies and invite you to immerse yourself in an atmosphere of peace and concentration. It is an evening of communion, reflection and discovery of the festive spirit through folklore. Advent evening "Giedružė" with folklore ensemble "Agila" will take place on 17 December at 6 pm at the Nida Community House (Taikos g. 17, Neringa).

Agree, the festive period should smell of gingerbread and cookies! That's why on the evening of 18 December, we invite you to a cosy evening for the whole family with a gingerbread decoration workshop. We will create festive treats, decorate gingerbread with colourful icing, sprinkles and other decorations. A time to soak up and share good cheer, enjoy the joy of Christmas preparations and unleash your creativity. The workshop will take place on 18 December from 6 pm at the Preila Community House (Preilos g. 27, Neringa).

An evening of fun, laughter and warmth awaits on 20 December at the Neringa Library. A fun evening of board games for friends, families, community members and visitors. We will try out a variety of games, from strategy to fun and games of chance, which will engage players of all ages. It's a great way to spend the evening, socialise and enjoy a friendly atmosphere amidst these festive moments. On the evening of 20 December we invite you to a very sensitive and inspiring musical journey with pianist, improviser, music creator Julia Alexandra. The performance will feature original compositions and delicate classical melodies. Julia Alexandra's virtuosity and creative expression create a special atmosphere, inviting you to immerse yourself in a world of sound, full of emotions and festive cosiness. It is a concert that touches the heart and gives unforgettable moments. The musical evening will take place on 20 December at 5 pm at the Thomas Mann Memorial Museum (Skruzdynės str. 17, Neringa).

Nida Culture and Tourism Information Centre "Agila" invites you to a guided tour "Winter of the Diggers", created for the festive season. During the approximately 2 kilometre tour of Nida, you will hear stories about the life of the fishermen of the Curonian Spit, their everyday life and the traditions of winter festivals in the Curonian Spit. You will learn about the differences between the diggers and the landowners and the special value of the sturgeon ice fishing, which has been recognised as an intangible cultural heritage of Lithuania. At the end of the tour, travellers are invited to visit the courtyard of an authentic fisherman's homestead and enjoy herbal tea and baked goods from a local bakery. This musical Christmas tale is a cosy story where festive melodies are interwoven into a warm and joyful programme for the whole family. It is an evening full of music, mystery and festive wonder, inviting you to get into the Christmas spirit and discover cosy moments together. The performance will take place on 26 December at 18:00 in the dome of the Nida Culture and Tourism Information Centre "Agila" (Taikos str. 4, Neringa).

Let your own handicrafts remind you of your winter moments in Nida - you can make them during the workshop. A fun activity for the whole family - children and adults alike will find plenty to keep them busy. The New Year in Nida is full of new activities! You will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity by creating handmade decorations and festive decorations. We guarantee that time will pass quickly in a cosy and friendly environment, and the works you create will become pleasant memories or lovely gifts for loved ones. All tools are provided free of charge during the workshop. Workshops for adults and children will take place on 27 December at 15:00 at the Liudvikas Reza Cultural Centre (at L. Reza str. 8 B).

Just before the New Year, singer Eugenijus Chrebtovas will present an exclusive concert programme SINATRA to the guests and residents of Nida. This concert is a unique opportunity to step back in time a few decades and sing, clap and sway to the rhythm of the swing, to the melodies that everyone knows and recognises from the very first bars. From "Strangers in the Night" and "New York" to "Only You" and "Love is in the Air". Pianist Lukas Gedvilas will also join Chrebtov on stage. The tandem of these artists always surprises and delights the audience. The concert will take place on 29 December at 6 pm in the Concert Hall of the Liudvikas Reza Cultural Centre (address L. Rėzos g. 54, Neringa).

Probably the most beautiful end of the year you can plan in peaceful Nida. New Year in Nida with opera soloists Beata Ignataviciute and Mindaugas Rojasm. A string quintet will perform together and create a unique atmosphere. This is a sensual and elegant programme that will invite you to welcome the New Year with moments of musical beauty and spiritual peace in a special place. The event is free of charge - a great opportunity to end the year with an exceptional and professional cultural experience. The concert will take place on 31 December at 22:30 at the Nida Mary's Christian Aid Church (Taikos str. 17, Neringa).

New Year's Eve celebration in Juodkrante 31 December, from 22:30, at the Juodkrante festive fir tree On the shore of the Curonian Lagoon at Raganas Hill.

Dance, rejoice and enter the New Year 2025 in Nida with DJ Vladas Straupas. An energetic and fun evening under the open sky, music that invites you to dance, good mood and a festive atmosphere guarantee an unforgettable New Year. The disco will start as the last minutes of the year are ticking away: on the evening of 31 December, just before 00:00, we will meet in the square next to the Neringa Municipality building (Taikos str. 2, Neringa).

It has become a tradition to meet and enjoy the winter holidays - the New Year in Nida is inseparable from Neringa's most delicious dishes, the traditional Curonian fish soup - we invite you to try it. Songs, live music and good mood will be played alongside hot fish soup.
