How much does a weekend in Nida cost?

Nida's summer season, which usually lasts from mid-May to the end of August, is the busiest time of the year, when the Curonian Spit receives the largest number of tourists. Due to the high demand, accommodation prices during this period are usually the highest of the year. Summer prices can be two to three times higher than in spring.

Even if you pay a higher price, you won't always have a place to stay in Nida in summer. Bookings for summer holidays in Nida start early, so even if you start preparing for your summer holiday in Nida earlier - for example, a month before you plan to arrive - you may not find any available accommodation.

Meanwhile, early spring is not so "popular" with holidaymakers and Nida does not yet have a large number of holidaymakers, which means that accommodation prices are also slightly lower.

In addition to price reductions, accommodation establishments often offer additional discounts for longer stays in spring. For example, you can find offers where you can book three or more nights for one night free or a discount for the whole stay. You can also expect offers to include extra facilities such as early check-in or late check-out, which is usually not possible in the summer season.

In spring, you also get more flexibility: easier availability, more accommodation options to suit your budget and preferences.

Comparison of accommodation prices: in March and April, accommodation prices are around 30-50 % lower than in summer. If you pay €230 per night in a hotel in summer, the same room will cost up to €100 in spring.

The ferry to Smiltyne is one of the most popular and convenient ways to reach the Curonian Spit - how much does it cost? Ferry fares remain the same throughout the year and are not affected by the season:

• A return transfer ticket for a passenger (with luggage or bicycle) without discount costs €1.70;
• Moving by car costs EUR 23.20.

However, the season affects the ferry timetable and the number of cars on the ferries: in the summer months, ferries usually run more frequently and have longer opening hours. Nevertheless, queues at the ferries are still frequent in high season. To avoid queues, we recommend that you check the car traffic at the ferry before leaving the Curonian Spit.

In early spring (March-April), ferries are still less frequent, but there is no increase in car traffic. Queues at the ferry are usually unavoidable, except on public holidays or during major events.

The eco-tax is levied on vehicles entering the Curonian Spit and is intended to fund environmental protection measures. The eco-fee is at its highest in the summer season to regulate traffic flows. The eco-tax changes in 2025: from 20 June to 20 August, a €50 eco-tax is levied on passenger cars.

The eco-tax decreases in spring, as holiday traffic and the number of vehicles decreases. From 21 August to 19 June, an eco-tax of €10 applies to cars.

Parking in Nida is another important cost component, especially in the summer season when parking spaces are limited and demand is high.

Summer season 2025:

1. From 1 June to 31 August inclusive, parking in Nida is free of charge. 
2. Parking in central areas of Nida will cost EUR 3 per hour.
3. Car parking per night is €10.

Spring season:

1. From 1 September, free parking is available in most main parking areas. 
2. Many car parks do not have a time limit and allow longer periods of parking. 
3. You are more likely to get free parking where you stay - due to the lower number of guests, most properties are able to offer free parking in low season.

Comparison of ferry, eco-tax and parking prices: in summer this will cost you around €93. In spring, it will cost you around €33.

During the summer season, Nida becomes one of the main tourist attractions in Lithuania. This inevitably affects the prices of restaurants, cafés and bars. High demand and large numbers of holidaymakers keep prices higher, which can lead to higher prices for restaurants in the summer, especially in the most popular locations by the Curonian Lagoon or near the beaches.

For example, during the summer season, lunch in a café can cost around €15-25 per person. Lunch or dinner in a restaurant, such as one serving fresh fish, can cost around €30 or more. Due to the higher number of holidaymakers in the summer, you may have to wait longer to get a table, or even not be able to get a table at all, or you may have to wait for a reservation to be taken, or you may have to make a reservation in advance for the café or restaurant of your choice.

When the summer season ends, catering establishments in Nida review and adjust their pricing. Prices for catering outlets change as early as autumn, when the number of holidaymakers decreases. Between September and May, some places reduce prices by around 10-20 %, depending on the location and the type of dishes. So in spring, you can find dishes for €10-20 in the same places where lunch costs €15-25 in summer. However, in early spring there is still a smaller choice of places to eat, as some cafés and restaurants are only open in high season and open around mid-May.
