Other frequently asked questions:

How long a visit takes

We recommend that you allow 1 hour for your visit - that's plenty of time to browse the exhibits in a leisurely manner and visit the art gallery on the second floor of the museum.

Do we recommend visiting with children?

We are quite sure that children will especially enjoy the Mizgiriri Amber Museum - the museum does not restrict children's curiosity by prohibiting them from touching the exhibits with their hands. On the contrary, both children and adults are invited to get to know everything by touching, listening, smelling and trying it out themselves.

Mizgiriri Amber Museum

It is probably the most modern and innovative museum in Nida.We recommend you visit it and experience an artistic-educational audiovisual narrative, where amber comes alive through light, sound and feeling. The interactive tour will not only allow you to learn about the history of amber, but also to feel it through all your senses.

The museum is full of rare amber and artworks, with a virtual narrative on panoramic screens. A visit here is therefore not only an informative experience, but also an artistic one, presented through multimedia images. You will learn the legend about the formation of amber, see a documentary reconstruction of the amber forest, and hear a poetic story about the Curonian Spit based on real facts.

The Mizgiriri Amber Museum has an amber room on the second floor, where amber artworks are displayed. It is also a place to see the collection of photographic equipment collected by K. Mizgiri. A special highlight is an extremely rare (found once every 600 years) amber ingot weighing 3,820 grams, found in Denmark. This find, which was bought at auction, is larger than Lithuania's famous „Sun Stone“.

More about the museum

Our recommendation: if you have the opportunity, come to the museum when guided tours are available (you don't have to come with a larger group, you can join a guided tour with two people) - you will learn even more, hear interesting stories, and get to know the whole history of amber. Tours take place every day at 12 noon, 3 pm and 5 pm - the ticket price is higher.

The Mizgiriri Amber Museum is not only informative, but also very modern and up-to-date - we have no doubt that children and adults alike will be engaged and learn a lot of new things.
