How much does a weekend in Nida cost?

Comparison of prices for accommodation, parking, food and entertainment in summer and autumn.

Autumn in Nida is the time when the resort reveals a different face: calmness fills the streets, nature turns golden hues, the fresh sound of the sea on the calm beach, and the weather is still pleasant, with the warmth of the sun. It is in autumn that Nida becomes a real discovery for those looking for a quieter and cheaper holiday. Let's compare how much a weekend in Nida costs in summer and autumn.

Briefly:

Differences between accommodation prices in Nida in summer and autumn seasons

Apartment and hotel prices in Nida in summer

Nida's summer season, which usually lasts from mid-May to the end of August, is the busiest time of the year, when the Curonian Spit receives the largest number of tourists. Due to the high demand, accommodation prices during this period are usually the highest of the year. A summer weekend in Nida can be up to four times more expensive than in autumn.

Even if you pay a higher price, you won't always have a place to stay in Nida in summer. Bookings for summer holidays in Nida start early, so even if you start preparing for your summer holiday in Nida earlier - for example, a month before you plan to arrive - you may not find any available accommodation.

Apartment and hotel prices in Nida in autumn

Meanwhile, autumn sees a significant decrease in the number of holidaymakers in Nida, which means that accommodation prices are also lower. In September and October, accommodation prices can drop by up to 30-50 % compared to summer. For example, if you pay €100 for a night in a hotel in summer, the same room in autumn can cost around €50-70.

In addition to price reductions, during the autumn season, accommodation establishments often offer additional discounts for longer stays. For example, you can find offers where you can book three or more nights for one night free or a discount on the whole stay. You can also expect offers to include extra facilities such as early check-in or late check-out, which is often not even possible in the summer season.

Autumn also offers more flexibility: easier availability, more accommodation options to suit your budget and preferences. So a weekend in Nida in autumn will be much cheaper and more comfortable in your accommodation options.

Ferry, eco-tax, parking in Nida - how much does it cost in summer and autumn?

Ferry crossing - compare prices and timetables

The ferry to Smiltyne is one of the most popular and convenient ways to reach the Curonian Spit - how much does it cost? Ferry fares remain the same throughout the year and are not affected by the season: a return transfer ticket for a passenger (with luggage or bicycle) without a discount costs €1.70, while a transfer by car costs €23.20.

However, the season affects the ferry timetable and the number of cars on the ferries: in the summer months, ferries usually run more frequently and have longer opening hours. Nevertheless, queues at the ferries are still frequent in high season. A weekend in Nida during the summer usually involves a much longer journey time, both outbound and return. To avoid queues, we recommend checking the traffic at the ferry before leaving the Curonian Spit.

Entrance to Nida and the difference between the price of the ecotax in summer and autumn

The eco-tax is levied on vehicles entering the Curonian Spit and is intended to fund environmental protection measures. The eco-fee is at its highest in the summer season to regulate traffic flows. From 1 June to 15 September, an eco-tax of €30 applies for cars.

In the autumn season, the eco-tax decreases as holiday traffic and the number of vehicles decreases. From 1 November to 30 April, an eco-tax of €5 applies to cars. This fee is slightly higher in May and from 16 September to 31 October - the eco-fee for arriving in the Curonian Spit by car during this period is €10.

Parking in Nida - price differences between summer and autumn

Parking in Nida is another important cost component, especially in the summer season when parking spaces are limited and demand is high. During the summer season, from 1 May to 30 September inclusive, parking in Nida is charged. Parking in central areas of Nida can cost between €1-2 per hour, while parking for longer periods, such as a full day, can cost around €10-15. Price differences between cafes and restaurants in Nida in summer and autumn seasons

How much does it cost to eat in a café or restaurant in Nida in summer?

In summer, a weekend in Nida inevitably involves a huge number of holidaymakers. This affects prices in restaurants, cafés and bars. High demand and large numbers of holidaymakers keep prices high, which can lead to higher prices in summer, especially in the most popular places by the Curonian Lagoon or near the beaches.

For example, during the summer season, lunch in a café can cost around €15-25 per person. Lunch or dinner in a restaurant, such as one serving fresh fish, can cost around €30 or more. Due to the higher number of holidaymakers in the summer, you may have to wait longer to get a table, or even not be able to get a table at all, or you may have to wait for a reservation to be taken, or you may have to make a reservation in advance for the café or restaurant of your choice.

Where to eat in Nida

How much does it cost to eat in a café or restaurant in Nida in low season?

When the summer season ends, catering establishments in Nida review and adjust their pricing. In autumn, due to the lower number of holidaymakers, some places reduce prices by around 10-20 %, depending on the location and type of dishes. So, in autumn, you can find dishes for €10-20 at the same places where lunch costs €15-25 in summer. However, it's worth noting that during the low season, Nida's choice of dining options decreases, as some cafés and restaurants are only open during the high season.
